I Can Hear The Lawyers Sharpening Their Pencils

What’s a Viacube?

It says here it will transform how I live, work, eat, sleep, etc…

[Update: the teaser page I originally linked to is now the product page]

It doesn’t say what it is.

I hope it’s not another Segway.

It looks like they are exhibiting at the CES. Maybe we will know soon what it is. If you know place a comment, or if you have a guess, place a comment.

New Robotics Kit From Lego

Look! Lego is coming out with a new robot kit.

I had their first one (My wife got it for me) but I never did much with it. This one looks about ten times cooler though.

Finally a Heuristic Virus Scanner

The problem with signature based virus scanners is that they take a reactive approach to security. Only after a new virus is discovered to signatures become available, so there is always a window of vulnerability. As virii become more sophisticated and propagate faster, this lag becomes more of an issue.

This Report on Robin Good’s blog tells of an Indian company that is planning to release a heuristic virus scanner.

A heuristic virus scanner is one that recognizes virus like behavior rather than depending on signatures. It will be interesting to see if more companies start to take this approach to virus detection in the future.

Epicurean Geek

Epicurean Geek is a new blog created by a colleague of mine. It seems like it will focus mainly on technology and food, which are two things I love.

In this post, Danh takes an idea I had and runs with it.
